LA MEILLERAYE DE BRETAGNE (44) : Inauguration
The inauguration of the new waste water treatment plant took place on sunny Saturday, September 3rd, 2010.
The former WWTP could no longer ensure an effective treatment of the effluents. In order to respect stricter discharge standards (carbon, nitrogen and phosphor), the municipality chose to build a new facility. It takes part in the national plan for water quality recovery.
The new water-treatment plant is designed for 1 900 Equivalents Inhabitants: 1200 for municipal waste water and 700 for industrial waste water.
A 70 m3 storm water tank has been built to store 2 rainy hours flow. Then, the water line is traditionally composed of a fine screening, an aeration tank and a clarifier. A gravity belt thickener increases the dry solids sludge concentration until 6,5 %, before land disposal.
The nearby municipalities of Erbray and of Joué sur Erdre were represented and very interested in this inauguration. Indeed, NDEI is going to start the construction of their water-treatment plant in September and October.
Mayor Mr. Moreau was thankful for very good progress of the construction as well as the good atmosphere. The deadlines were respected by NDEI, but also thanks to Séribat and Sauvaget TP.
The following morning, on Saturday, September 4th was organized an open day: twenty persons came to visit this modern and effective environmental protection tool.
