A new contract won in France

Rural community of Sainte-Foy, located between Les Sables d'Olonne and La Roche sur Yon in administrative department of Vendée, has appointed Nantaise des Eaux Ingénierie to build its new wastewater treatment plant.
This will be sized for 2200 I.E., the estimated population by 2022.
Treated water will be discharged in the Vertonne river, which feeds Olonne marshland, an area classified under Natura 2000 project. Therefore, the plant shall guarantee an advanced treatment of nitrogen and phosphorus.
The treatment line will be composed of:
- Fine screening (3 mm) of sewage;
- Flow metering and sampling of sewage;
- A 530 m3 aeration tank;
- Physical-chemical phosphate removal;
- Settling in a Ø 12.10 m tank;
- Flow metering and sampling of treated water;
- Discharge in the Vertonne river.
Sludge will be drained and stabilized by biological process through 900 m2 of drying beds with reeds and re-used for agriculture.
Commissioning of the new plant is foreseen by beginning of July 2010.
